2012 is upon us and the start of a new year is when many people like to make changes that will enrich their lives. This show is an insight to how we use our mobile devices to help us make us those changes and how our devices assist us in reaching those goals we set for ourselves. The iPhone is much more than a communication or media device. It can also be used as a helpful tool in monitoring our health condition and active lifestyles.

Our Nutrition/Fitness Goals for 2012

Clay - I set a goal to lose 50 pounds by July 12th of this year. I am a father now and I want to set a good example for my child and I want to be an active parent as my daughter grows up. I am proud to say I have lost 15 of those 50 pounds and I look forward to sharing with you how my iPhone has helped me thus far. Jerry - As a Type I insulin-dependent diabetic for over 40 years, I strive to manage the various aspects of my life, including Blood Glucose levels, diet, exercise, etc. From my days of using Palm OS thru Windows Mobile, and now the iPhone, I have been active in seeking out the best applications to help me manage my diabetes.

The edict was set.  The wife threw down the gauntlet and declared, "I want to be able to listen to my iPad kind of like we do with the iHome dock we have in the bedroom."  Well, that got me thinking about the types of solutions availble to comply with that request.  Using Airplay with our entertainment center was an option, but a bit too cumbersome and inconvienient, especially if one of us is already watching TV.  Another clock/radio dock that accommodates the iPad was another choice.  Choice number three was a dedicated speaker system that leveraged Bluetooth.  Off to the Apple Store I went.

It's insane. The trail of successes that Apple has had since the iPod was introduced over a decade ago shows no signs of slowing down. Every quarter seems to be a record breaking quarter. Just about every product launch is a raging success. Apple is a tech company that is truly in a league of it's own. It's no wonder that Apple is loved by so many and hated by so many others. What will it take for this empire to fall? The loss of it's most famous creator? Nope. With stock value at an all time high and a recent earnings report that shows the company to be so ridiculously profitable that it makes every other company in the World look like a complete and abysmal failure, the rise to global domination looks certain. I thinks it's safe to say Jobs left his company in good hands.

Do it or don't do it? That is the question that every iPhone owner asks themselves at one point or another. I ask myself that question with every iPhone and with every new jaibreak software that gets released. It's not like it use to be, where with every Cydia install, you held your breath and prayed hoping that it wouldn't freeze and force a reboot (or even worse, a restore). No, as the iOS platfrom grew, so has the jailbreak community and the quality of apps, tweaks, hacks and themes available is a testament to that. I have noticed absolutely NO slowdown or bugginess beyone whatever I was already experiencing with the Apple released iOS 5.0. The iPhone 4S is a powerful phone, but I have found that with the right tweaks and apps, it can become even more powerful. So, regardless of if you are a member of #TeamPure or #TeamJailbreak, watch the video below featuring many of the dozen or so Cydia mods I have installed and consider the possibilities of what could be.

The arguments from both sides regarding the subject are going to both be relevant in regard to their preferred platforms. Yes, the Android operation system can run multiple apps in the background. The "Fanboy" will tell you that the way Apple does it is better with their fast app-switching saved state method because it is better on battery life.
